Living Will Declaration (Cryonics-Focused)
This document explains what kind of medical care you want if you are terminally ill or unconscious and unable to make decisions—especially at the end of life.
But unlike a standard living will, this version is written specifically for cryonics members.
Key Features:
-
States your clear desire to be cryonically preserved after legal death.
-
Directs caregivers to avoid heroic or futile treatments that only prolong biological dying.
-
Explicitly allows CPR and external cooling after death—but only to protect your tissues for cryopreservation, not to revive you.
-
Prohibits autopsy, embalming, and organ donation unless approved by the Cryonics Institute.
-
Legally donates your body to the Cryonics Institute under Michigan’s Anatomical Gift law—this helps speed up transfer and avoid delays.
-
Requests full cooperation from medical providers, hospice, law enforcement, and family during the preservation process.
This document helps ensure your medical team and family know and follow your cryonics wishes—especially when you can’t speak for yourself.
