Steve LeBel Bio:

Steve LeBel brings decades of nonprofit leadership, business acumen, unique problem-solving skills, and a deep personal investment in cryonics. He spent 17 years as the president of a Michigan hospital with 20 locations in three states. It was there he developed extensive expertise in governance, strategic planning, and fiduciary responsibility.

Since retiring from healthcare, Steve founded several technology companies offering computer networking, web design, hosting, and data centers. Since selling those businesses, he developed long-term investment strategies before writing a series of award-winning fantasy novels. In recent years, his passion has turned to cryonics.

Steve is a forward-thinking team player who has been working with Cryonics Institute (CI) leadership on projects to strengthen the organization’s future. These include reviewing nonprofit corporate structures so CI could accept tax-deductible donations and better safeguard its assets. He’s also working on developing model cryonics revival trusts that allow modest investments from members to become meaningful resources at the time of revival. Steve has also published several articles on improving preservation outcomes, such as his recently featured article in CI Magazine — “How Hospice Can Improve Your Cryopreservation Outcome”. These articles and others reflect his practical and compassionate approach to improving member outcomes.

With strong ties to Cryonics Institute and its leaders, Steve is committed to transparent governance, prudent financial strategies, and growing CI’s institutional strength, all of which are critical for CI’s long-term success.
