There has been a lot of interest in the topic of Cryonics Revival Trusts (on various social media sites). I already have 22 people who’ve asked to be part of a zoom meeting on the subject. So, with that in mind…
I’ll be hosting a Zoom meeting to share progress on the Cryonics Revival Trust project. This initiative has been under active development with legal and financial professionals, and my goal is to share an overview of what we’ve accomplished so far. This is not a generic trust model – it is designed specifically for the Cryonics Institute and their members.
Presentation Topics
During the session, I will cover:
- Purpose of a Revival Trust – why it exists and how it can benefit members upon revival.
- Core Roles – grantor, trustee, trust protector, and beneficiaries.
- Investment Strategy – why a long-term, equity-focused approach is essential when you have a 100–200 year investment horizon.
- Checks and Balances – how the Trust (and the Trust Protector) and CI are linked to ensure accountability and mutual benefit.
- Philanthropic Component – how and why the trust should make annual contributions to nonprofit cryonics research and revival efforts.
- Multi-Person Trust Concept – opportunities to make this model available to other CI members at a sustainable cost.
Invitation
If you are a CI member (or simply interested in how revival trusts work), I invite you to attend this presentation.
- Date & Time: Thursday, August 28th at 7:30 PM EST
- Location: Online via Zoom
If you haven’t already received an invitation, please contact me through my email (below) or through my website (listed below), and I will add you to the invitation list.
You can expect the Zoom link to arrive in your mailbox on Wednesday.
I look forward to discussing these ideas with you and hearing your feedback as we refine this important tool for the cryonics community.
