All kids love Halloween, no matter how old we get…
I always loved handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. And, in that regard, Harbour Towne was something of a disappointment. Waiting for our first Halloween with bags of candy set by the door (most of which had to be rescued and replenished by Marge as a result of my many forays in the days leading up to Halloween), was exciting.
Until we realized that no one was coming. After checking our lights, listening outside for the sound of “Trick or Treat!”, I concluded no one was coming. Was it some sort of anomaly? Bad weather?
The second year, we were more cautious with our candy purchases, but still no little people showed up to extort munchies in exchange for leaving our condo unmolested.
By the third year, we knew there were no children living anywhere in the area.
Not wishing to give up so easily on one of our favorite holidays, we decided to rally the neighbors of Pigeon Hill Court. We thought it would be a good excuse to meet them and also a way to salving our sadness over the apparent death of the little children in our neighborhood.
You can imagine our surprise when we discovered there are a LOT of children still living in Harbour Towne. It might be hard to recognize them at first because some seem to have grown a bit and others have thick disguises that make them look like anything but children, but we know the truth.
We’re so glad we found them…
Halloween 2015 (coming soon)
Halloween 2014
As always, it’s disappointing that we didn’t take more pictures. Some of the costumes have been amazing. And, to make sure everyone does their best to find good costumes, we offer cheap plastic trophies for the people who come up with the best of the best.
