SECOND ANNUAL GERIATRIC RIVER RAT TUBING ADVENTURE
This is what I have so far on a tubing trip scheduled for August 28th:
We will rendezvous at the River Rat Canoe Rental on Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
Directions and phone for River Rat is: www.riverratcanoerental.com
We will leave our cars at that site and they will take us upriver for the 5 hour float back to our cars.

If you need more info, you can ask one of the adventurous souls in the picture to the left.
Bring coolers for beer, pop, sandwiches, munchies, etc. We can rent an extra tube for the cooler.
If you need to bring your phone, make sure you have something waterproof for it, otherwise, you can leave it and any other valuables in your car.
You should allow about 45-50 minutes travel time to get to River Rat. They have directions here: http://www.riverratcanoerental.com/rr-map.html
They agreed to reserve 16 tubes for us, but I promised I would call her on the 25th to give her a final count. So please RSVP to me so I can tell Paulette or Randy (231-834-9411) how many to expect.
Also, there has been talk of a cookout after we get back to Muskegon. Pere Marquette Park inside the breakwater is the top suggestion so far. (Roger offered to bring the firewood.) Another suggestion is to meet at Fricano’s for beer and pizza. What do you think?
Let me know – call me, email me, or fill out the comment field below. Let’s make this happen!

p.s. These are the brave adventurers who joined us!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh … I LOVED doing this with you guys! It was so much fun!!! Enjoy!
We will miss you, Da. But we just had to send you an invitation, since you are a charter member of the Muskegon River Rats. But if you don’t feel like making a 1,000 mile trip to Muskegon, I guess we will understand…
So far (Thursday evening), the following people have said “Yes!”
Roger & Kathy
Steve & Marge
Jeff & Peg
Ken & Ken
Corrinne
Looks like upper 80’s for Wednesday. Perfect tubing weather
More adventurers to add to our list:
Larry
Paul
Judy
Happy to report there were no casualties. All members returned safe and sound thanks to a swift running river that ran us back in about 3.5 hours.
We met later at Fricano’s for beer and pizza at 5:30, which worked out well.
The beach cookout we missed has been scheduled for September 10th.
